that eighty men (A)came from (B)Shechem, from (C)Shiloh, and from (D)Samaria with (E)their beards shaved off and their clothes torn and [a]their bodies (F)gashed, having grain offerings and incense in their hands to bring to the (G)house of the Lord. Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, (H)weeping as he went; and as he met them, he said to them, “Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam!” Yet it turned out that as soon as they came inside the city, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the men that were with him (I)slaughtered them and cast them into the cistern.
